November 2013

November was a busy month for us: I taught preschool at our house, Hallie had her first piano recital, Thanksgiving, and we started construction on our new fireplace--ripping out the old one and giving the hearth a makeover for the new wood stove.  That will get its own post later.

Rob's parents bought a new hot tub! It is a swim tub, so you can actually swim in it against the current.  It is so cool and our family goes over to Grandma and Papa's house to go swimming all the time!

The same day we went to Utah to pick up our new wood stove, we also went baptism dress shopping for Hallie.  She had fun trying on all the dresses.  They all looked so pretty on her--she is looking so grown up!

Hallie and I set up these dominoes one night and had to take a picture before knocking them all down

Making monkey bread with Hallie and Evie one Friday morning.  Monkey bread is the best! And great for kids to help with.

Hallie's very first piano recital! She played two songs and did so well on them both.  We are so proud of the young woman she is becoming!

Other November events without pictures:
-Parent/Teacher conferences were in November.  Claire's teacher is Mr. Frank Smith, and he does a great job! Hallie has Mrs. Erickson, whom we also love.  They both said the girls are doing very well in school.
-Book Fair night! These are my favorite because they always have them on Monday nights so it makes a wonderful Family Home Evening activity.  And because I just love books! It's just like going to a bookstore just for kids.
-Daniel Crump's wedding reception.  We were planning on going to the actual wedding and all the festivities, but we only made it there for part of the day due to roads.  I was so glad that we at least got to say hi to all the Crumps and Hanke family that made it.  It was so great to see them.
That's all for November.  We out.
