Christmas Tree Cutting 2013

As usual, we did our annual Christmas tree cutting excursion on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  We had Thanksgiving at Rob's parents this year, since it was a Henderson year.  Yummy, as always! We usually have other people with us when we go cut our tree, but this year it was just us. And we decided to find a new spot that was a little closer to home than our usual spot (which is a good 2 hour drive away).  We found an awesome place that is only a 30 or maybe 40 minute drive from home--definitely a good call!

It was a perfect day for getting a tree--lots of snow on the ground to make it fun, but not too cold and no wind!

We're ready to search

In hindsight, I'm not sure it was very wise to give the saw to the 6 year old...

Lucky Shaelyn got to ride in the sled the whole time!

We found a beauty! Finding credit goes to Rob--it's beautiful!

Beautiful woods up in the mountains

The girls really wanted to go sledding, so we sledded down the embankment for a while before we went home.

Sledding was a highly popular activity!

It was a fun trip, and we were done pretty early too! So we had enough time to go home and start setting up the tree and decorating it!
