We did so many fun things with my parents and siblings while they were here!
We had a family dinner at Don Pedro's with Chris, Rach, Jake, Brooklyn, Robin, Anna, and all of our crew and the Doha Merks on Saturday night before the blessing.
We went swimming at the Rock Springs pool--super fun! They have a lazy river, big water slides, a rock climbing wall over the pool, and a fun shallow splash park area. The girls had a blast!
We ate at Cafe Rio (or Cafeee Wee-o, as Evie calls it), then went to
see the summer kids' show, Aladdin, to watch our niece Ashlynn perform.
It was so cute and fun.
We planted new vegetables with Grammy on the back deck--they are just starting to sprout!
We went to Blairtown and played in the pool and on the ziplines. It's by far my favorite park in the summertime! Some pictures at Blairtown:
| Fun on the zipline! |
| Jess dodging the tree branches |
| Evie LOVED the water, and had a perma-grin on her face the whole time she was swimming. |
| The song "Firework" was playing on the radio and Evie was shakin' her booty in the water. It was so funny, all the parents were laughing. |
| Claire ziplining! Hallie and Claire both loved the zipline and went on it over and over. |
| We love Blairtown! |
We had lots of park days, riding bikes, playing games, and spending time together.
| Smiles for Grandfather! |
Rob went fishing with my dad, Ben, Scott, Matt, and Jess:
| They didn't catch anything, but they had fun! |
We went bowling and ate at the diner with Scott and my parents.
| My mom is pretty good! |
| My mom broke both of her thumbnails while bowling. It was pretty intense. |
| Rob schooled us all and won both games! Good job babe! |
We went to the river and skipped rocks, then came back home and roasted marshmallows in the grill at the park. They were the best roasted marshmallows ever! We used coal briquettes, so there was no flame for the marshmallows to catch on fire, they just toasted to a nice even golden brown. Yum!
| The only picture we took at the park. It was very hazy that day; there was a lot of residual smoke in the air from all the fires in Utah and Colorado. I would have taken more pictures, but right after I snapped this one, Evie burned her hands on the grill. We went home after that. |
There's probably at least ten more things we did that I forgot about, but that's probably enough to be getting on with!
And all too soon, it was time for them to go.
| My parents are the best! As always, it was so wonderful to see them! |
| Saying goodbye. We love you and we'll miss you! |
