Teton Family Reunion

The day after school got out, we left for a Henderson Family Reunion at a cabin in the Tetons.  The drive was absolutely spectacular, with gorgeous vistas opening up one after another.  So beautiful!

These pictures do not capture even half the beauty of the real thing.

The cabin is on the back side of the Grand Teton, with a great view.  It had lots of bedrooms and beds all over the place! It was a very well-stocked cabin, with all the fun stuff you could wish for: a hot tub, sauna, playground, kids' toys, board games, pool table, ping pong table, pinball game, foosball table, TVs, basketball court, fire pit, HUGE deck with patio chairs, and tetherball pole, not to mention the stunning views. We had a great time being with family and playing with cousins.

The first day, Hallie came inside and said "Mommy, I can talk to the trees!" She said that when their leaves move without any wind, they are talking to her and she can understand them.  Here she is talking to the trees. 

Evie playing tetherball. This tetherball was a huge hit, with the adults and kids alike.  It inspired Rob to build us our own tetherball pole at home.

Yes, it snowed while we were there. It didn't stick, but it was sure beautiful.

And after a wonderful three days, we all left on Sunday morning.  It was a very fun trip! 

 A few pictures from the drive home.  I know the lighting isn't the best, and these pictures aren't showing the true beauty, but in real life, these views were absolutely breathtaking! I felt like snapping a picture at least once every 5 minutes.

We took a different route home so that we could drive through Star Valley, since I have never seen it before.  What a beautiful drive!  It lifts my spirits to experience such beauty in God's green earth!

Some highlights from the trip that aren't pictured:

-Playing Nertz with Robert, Stacey, Rob, Alexis, Marla, and Kaleb.
-Watching the kids have a dance party!  Too cute!
-Seeing how much Shaelyn loved Grandma Cross.  Very sweet. 
-Everyone playing Catch Phrase
-Really good food--Stacey's Blondies, Mom's breakfast casserole, Marla's enchiladas, and barbecue night.  Mmmmmm!
-Sitting in the hot tub while it snowed
-Robert schooling everyone at tetherball! 
-Going to the drive-in movie in Driggs.  We saw a double feature: Madagascar 3 and Snow White and the Huntsman.  After Madagascar 3, we laid out blankets and pillows for the girls in the back of the van and turned all the volume in the car to the front speakers.  We hung up a blanket in between the two front seats so they couldn't see the screen, and they slept all through the second movie.
-Going to church in Driggs on Sunday morning.

It is truly a blessing to have such a wonderful family and to be able to make so many good memories together! We are so blessed!
