This has been the backyard summer for us. We built a playhouse, we refinished our deck, we inherited a swingset from Rob's parents, and we bought a new porch swing. Our backyard has quickly filled up! The girls love the new swingset. They have always had the park which is right behind our backyard, and which is also the main reason that we have never had a swingset before now. But the park has no swings, which are the main feature of our new swingset. All three of my girls LOVE swinging, so it's been very nice to have the swingset right in the backyard. It's also nice to be able to let them go outside and play without having to go with them, since they are not old enough to go to the park by themselves yet. Now that we have the swingset in our backyard, we are wondering why we waited so long to bring it up the street from Rob's parents' house. They have offered it to us several times in the past few years, and we just never moved it. Now that they are selling their house, they thought it was a great time to get it out of their backyard, so Rob and his dad walked it up the street to our backyard. All of us have enjoyed having it. Thanks again, Mom and Dad Henderson!
Rob and I enjoy the porch swing nearly as much as the girls enjoy the swingset. It is a perfect place to sit and rock on the beautiful Wyoming summer nights. We can see the stars so well, and we love relaxing out there. One night we sat and watched the lightning from a distant thunderstorm, which is one of my favorite things to do. We watched the fireworks from it. It can also recline until it's all the way flat, so sometimes we lay it down and swing on it horizontally. All in all, it's awesome. The girls like climbing on it too.
We love being able to enjoy our beautiful view even more from our very own backyard!
